About the Photographer
My name is Michelle Frohman and I currently attend the University of Connecticut as a Pre-veterinary major. I believe that horses are the most astounding and majestic creatures, and to be able to capture them through the art of photography is a passion of mine. Although I specialize in equine photography, I don’t limit myself to it. I also photograph house pets, livestock, landscapes, architecture, fashion, and much more. I have been riding horses for 12 years, and I specialize in Hunt seat on the flat with Morgans on the breed circuit. Along with school work and photography, other passions of mine include drawing and photo manipulations.
About the Experience + Tools of the Trade During my high school years I was introduced to photography by a few close friends of mine. I have never taken a photography class; I don’t like to restrict my imagination to textbook material. I am self taught on all of my photography knowledge, and I have learned how to take the best pictures through trial and error. I started off my photography with a simple camera, a Kodak Z740. I practiced with this camera for close to 2 years. It soon became apparent I needed a much more advanced camera, a D-SLR to be more specific. I did some research and picked the most economical choice, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. I have stuck to this camera, and now it is the only one I use. I have now acquired two lenses, an 18-55mm f/ 3.5-5.6 IS lens, and a 75-300mm f/ 4-5.6 III Telephoto zoom lens. The results of this camera are phenomenal, and I couldn’t be happier with my tool of the trade. I also have an hp pavilion laptop which helps me travel with my photos.
About the Horses Vinnie's Blazing Glory - Blaze is a 2004 Red Roan Quarter horse gelding. He is owned by my good friend Hannah Coutermarsh and she rescued him as a PMU horse when he was jut a yearling. He has come a long way since then and now rides english and western, and enjoys team penning and roping just as much as he love jumping. Blaze is a very talented young horse, and he is featured in alot of my photographs. He is approximately 15.3 hands, and is the friendliest horse I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
